X610Z: EXISTENZ Living Strategy Card and Board Game
Expected release: October 2011, pre-order now for free shipping!

As you already might have heard, the past months we worked our butts off on new projects. One of our showcases is the “living card and board game” version of X610Z. It contains 4 ready-to-play decks, new playing pieces, revised and hot looking book of rules and a new game board with the X610Z world map in the background. After the release we plan to publish 2 expansions every year, each with 2 ready-to-play decks with new themes.

The LCBG version of X610Z and all expansion sets will contain a unique card of the next ACT. In case of the board game, in the first editions this will be a card of ACT IV with extended art.

Mark Rivera, a British game reviewer of the UK Gaming Media Network, invited us to attend the UK Games Expo in Birmingham. We took this chance to give the public and professionals a first glimpse of the board game in order to see the response to it. To cut it short, we were overwhelmed by the positive reactions from  professionals, TCG gamers and board gamers. You can read more about our visit to the UK Games Expo in another article in this newsletter.

Based on the positive response, we have decided to set things in motion for a 1st edition of 1.000 games. Of course, we aim for the best possible quality of the game. The suggested retail price will be 39,95.
The release of the board game is planned for the end of October 2011. We hope to be ready for Spiel, but we are not sure about this yet. As mentioned before, we want to be absolutely sure that everything is hunky dory.

You want to be one of the first to get your hands on this 1st edition? You can pre-order by mailing us: preorder@x610z.com. If you pre-order now, no shipping cost will be added to your order. Please mention “pre-order LCBG” as the subject of your email. You don't have to pay yet as you pre-order, you will be contacted as soon as the game is available.

Now here's an ACT you guys are all waiting for. A lot of new stuff is added to the game play. Lots of brutal summons with mind blowing abilities, amazing new crystals, fluxes (new wording for non permanent effect card) and catalysts (new wording for permanent effect card) and much, much more.
Now, we know the big questions you guys will have: 'when dude, when???'

We decided to first release the LCBG version of X610Z, that contains lots of cards of ACTIII. After that, we will release ACT III (+/- 125 to 130 cards), which is planned for the beginning of 2012. ACT III will be printed with the new design. As soon as our stock of Battle Tubes, ACT I or ACT II cards is getting “critical” we will reprint it in the new design.
To answer your next question: Yes, the “old” cards are tournament legal and I'm pretty sure they will become a wanted collectible item.

ACT III needs further testing, something that we will do in public testplays in gameshops in the Netherlands.
Until now, we only had public playtests at the Game Force in Eindhoven. This time, we extended the playtestst to two other shops: Purperendraak (Groningen) en de Tinnen Soldaat (Ede).

The playtests are open to all who are interested (14 players max per shop) and are held every Saturday between the beginning of August until the end of September. Next to the Saturdays, there will be 2 Sundays planned for playtesting in the Game Force. If you're up for a fun gathering, make sure to be there!
Every testplayer that participates in the testplays is offered 1 free drink per testplay. More information about the testplay is given on our forum and in the participating game shops. We hope we can count on your help!

UK GAMES EXPO BIRMINGHAM june 3rd – june 5th
First preview of X610Z Living card and board game

On invitation of my British friend Mark Rivera we decided to participate in the UK Games Expo in Birmingham. Mark is a renowned game reviewer, member of Associated Gamers, the UK Gaming Network and partnered with G*M*S Magazine. Since we are in the finishing phase of the LCBG version of X610Z,  this would be a great opportunity to see the first response to it from the public and the professionals.

Bas (chief playtester), Bob (management) and I (chief Chaos) hopped on the plane on Thursday, packed with our luggage and all the stuff for the fair: big banner, posters, complete mock-up of the board game, decks (proxies), new game board and pawns. In spite of the fact that everyone was driving on the wrong side of the road, we arrived safely in the Quality Hotel, close to the UK Games Expo.

On Friday we prepare our little booth of three demo tables, two  for game play and one for displaying the contents of the LCBG. Since this only took us about an hour, we had the time to have a look around the fair, which was big fun. Lots of good stuff was going on the fair: big two-day table top tournament (Warhammer 40K), a special family zone, Doctor Who actors, Live Munchkin and much much more (http://www.ukgamesexpo.co.uk/).

Friday afternoon we hooked up with Mark Rivera, whom I got to know via Twitter. It was wonderful to meet Mark in person. The Internet is a great medium, but I must say that there's nothing better than a warm, real life handshake of a friend. During the fair we met a lot of nice people and Mark (Boardgames in Blighty) introduced us to the other game reviewers of the UK Gaming Network: Kevin O'Sullivan (social gaming), Michael Fox (Little Metal Dog Show) and Chris Bowler (Unboxed). All great extremely likeable guys and I'm happy to say I consider them all my friends. After we met, Michael interviewed me about the board game. You can watch the interview here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_L1kfLixrE

During the fair I also got to meet Dean Bowman of Rhythmcircus. He was very impressed by all the aspects of the game. He will give it a review as soon as it is released. Also we talked to some shopkeepers and most of them expressed their interest.
Last but not least I had a nice talk with Larry Roznai (president of Mayfair games, publisher of Colonists of Catan). We had a nice click and next time he visits Amsterdam I hoop to meet him again.

The show took 2 days and I must say that the response by the public and the professionals to the board game are overwhelmingly positive. Everyone was really impressed by the looks. The X610Z gaming tables were filled all the time, we even got people standing in line. We got a lot of compliments about game play and the balance of the decks. This strengthened our thought that we have something good going on here!

Hugs & Tally Ho!
